Elizabeth sings the ballads and old-time songs of the Appalachians. Elizabeth grew up in Rural Retreat, Virginia surrounded by the ballads and old-time songs of the Appalachians. She sings these songs the way their ancestors might have sung them - you can feel the warmth and emotion in her stories - and poetry in the songs. She was very well received at East Lansing's Great Lakes Folk Festival - we're proud to have her back in town! As a special treat, Elizabeth will be joined by her mother Sandy, adding her lovely vocal harmonies to some of the songs. Gate opens at 7 pm; doors open at 7:30 pm. General admission seating. Tickets: $12 Public/ $10 Fiddle Members/ $5 Students. Available on line at www.tenpoundfiddle.org, and at the door. (more)
