Our Success
Since 2005, under Mayor Virg Bernero's tenacious leadership to turn Lansing from good to great, the city of Lansing has experienced a historic level of comprehensive economic development. A total of 77 projects, valued at approximately $600 million in private investment and over 4000 private jobs, are nearly all under way or complete. Projects run across the spectrum of business sectors, including biotech, IT, national headquarters insurance industry, cyclotron-related expansions, nanotechnology commercialization, traditional manufacturing to advanced manufacturing, return on investment is happening right now in the city, even during this downturn.
