Trendy Urban Core
Once upon a time, downtown Lansing was the major shopping district of
Mid-Michigan, on top of being the Capital City! As department stores
moved to malls in suburbia and lured downtown consumers away, major
buildings went vacant scarring face of downtown… temporarily. Fast
forward to 2006 and developers took big, old department stores and
transformed them into super cool loft apartments and fancy office space.
As it turns out, urban redevelopment is a catchy bug. Building owners
and merchants have since been restoring historical facades to their
original glory, re-vamping storefronts, and adding lofts above offices
and businesses all over downtown at neck-breaking speed.
Because today’s downtown offers unique living spaces with fabulous
design elements that tap into the surging energy of the city, people
are coming back! Developers are renewing classic buildings and creating
contemporary housing to appeal to a new market of downtown
dwellers—from students to empty-nesters, residents are scooping up
everything from luxury condos to affordable apartments.

As the Capital City of Michigan, Lansing is more than a star on a
mitten-shaped map. We are the nexus of all major decisions made for our

Looking for the trifecta of livin' it up? Well you've found it. You've heard it before, people: you need a place to "live, work, play". Well, let's break it down and see what's game in Lansing:
- By "play" we mean hit up the nightlife, summer festivals, and Lugnuts games
- The whole "work" idea can be daunting, but face it-- you need a job (or an internship). Good news for you, Lansing has opportunities for both right down the street-- that's Michigan Avenue and it takes you from campus to the Capitol Building, and everything in between.
- And as for "live", well unless you're already shackin' up in a fancy loft with your fellow students and/or young professionals and enjoying a busy daylife and hot nightlife just seconds out your front door... let's talk.
