Lansing Municipal Banner Policy

What - The Lansing Municipal Banner Policy is a set of rules and regulations in regards to the size, placement, and types of banners that can be hung in public right of ways in the City of Lansing.  Colorful banners allow the City to add a festive and beautiful touch to public spaces while also growing public awareness for events, districts, and organizations.

Who - Various Non-Profits, Events, and other groups and associations may make application to the Lansing EDC for placement of colorful banners throughout the City of Lansing.  These banners can serve to make the public aware of these groups and events while also adding a colorful, fun touch to light poles that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Why - Banners are meant to bring awareness and aesthetic appeal to the City of Lansing.  Whether it be advertising events or creating awareness for an organization, the Banner Policy is the guide to understanding the dimensions, hardware, location, process, and cost for hanging banners in the City of Lansing.  An organization who wishes to make application to the City to hang banners on historic and/or large overhead light poles can please review the policy and download an application here.
