School Tour Programs
History is alive at Turner-Dodge. This school year bring your students for our all new programs and a few of our old fan favorites. New to the Turner-Dodge House's school tour programs are Lansing History and From Plank Roads to Trains. We also offer programs for preschool students.
Programs last 90 minutes and include:

- Your class receives an orientation to the house and its history.
- Your class will have a guided tour of the first, second, and third floors of the house.
- You will get your choice of one activity included with your tour.
Tour of the House
Students will be given a guided tour of the Turner-Dodge House. While touring the house, students will learn about both the history of the families that once lived here as well as the American/Michigan History. Students will be given a tour of the first, second, and third floors.

New Programs
Lansing History Program
Students will learn about the history of Lansing, our capital city. Students will also discover how the Turners helped create Lansing, along with the important contributions of the Dodges.
From Plank Roads To Trains
Students will learn the history of Michigan's transportation. Students will also learn the impact that James Turner had on developing our transportation system.
Preschool Programs
Turner Time
Students will receive a tour of the Turner-Dodge House, learn how the Turner children lived, and make a fun project to take home.
Dodge Games
The Dodge children loved to play games. Students will receive a tour of the Turner-Dodge House, play a game like the Dodge children would have, and make a fun project to take home.
Mystery Box Program
Students will learn about the stories of James Turner and discover historical artifacts from the Turner-Dodge Mystery Box of Artifacts. Students will be able to make a Wholly Copter to take home.
Fan Favorites
Our fan favorite programs offer students an opportunity to have a first hand experience if history.
Chief Okemos Program
Students will learn about Chief Okemos and hear a story about one of his visits to the Turner family. Students will be able to make a diorama of Chief Okemos' visit to the Turner home.
Timeless Toys
Students will learn about historic toys. Students will be able to play with some of our historic toys and make their own Thaumotrope.
