Regional governing corporate authority established by state statute to own and operate the Capital Region International Airport, Mason Jewett Field, and any other aeronautical facilities within the Tri-County Region. The Airport Authority is governed by a 6-person Authority Board. The Authority is responsible for the development of domestic and international air passenger, cargo and global logistics within Mid-Michigan.
The Mayor appoints 3 of the 6 members of the board. The remaining 3 appointments are made by the Ingham County Commission. The Mayor's appointments are at-large and must be confirmed by the City Council.
