Lansing’s Local Downtown Finance Authority, also known as the Lansing Regional SmartZone (LRSZ), is a  cooperative effort with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to stimulate the growth of technology-based businesses in the Lansing Region. It is set up as a partnership between the City of East Lansing, City of Lansing, Ingham County and Michigan State University.

It is a seven member board representing the City of Lansing, City of East Lansing, and Ingham County. The City of Lansing appoints 3 members to the LDFA for four-year terms expiring June 30, and both the City of East Lansing and Ingham County appoint their own representatives.
