In Michigan, District Courts have jurisdiction over:
- Lawsuits involving damages up to $25,000
- Landlord-tenant cases
- Small claims
- Traffic violations
- Misdemeanors
- Preliminary examinations in felony cases
54-A District Court has jurisdiction over the City of Lansing, and is the largest district court in Ingham County. The
54-B District Court has jurisdiction over cases in East Lansing, and the
55th District Court in Mason handles all other cases arising in Ingham County, including Dansville, Delhi Township, Mason, Meridian Township (Okemos), Lansing Township, Leslie, Stockbridge, Webberville and Williamston.
