Cooling Centers Activated in the Lansing Area

Cooling centers across the Lansing area have been activated to provide residents with a place to go to escape the hot weather. Free rides to Cooling Centers are available for residents with a physical and financial need through CATA, EATRAN, and Clinton Area Transit. Residents should call 2-1-1 for more information.

Stay safe in hot weather:

  • Check on neighbors or family members without air conditioning who may have a hard time getting out of their home.
  • Make sure pets have plenty of water and a cool place to rest.
  • Take care of yourself by avoiding strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day and by spending at least a few hours a day in a cool place.
