(LANSING) – Mayor Andy Schor has issued his third Executive Order to establish and create the Mayor’s Art and Culture Commission that will provide expertise, resources and support of arts and culture throughout the city.
“Lansing is committed to arts and culture, and we will make this an important part of our place- making strategy for this city,” said Mayor Schor. “The newly established Art and Culture Commission will make recommendations on how we can ensure art, culture and entertainment continue to be an integral part of our community.”
Mayor Schor is pleased to announce the appointment of the following members to the Mayor’s Art and Culture Commission: Alice Brinkman, Alison Alfredson, Barb Whitney, Berl Schwartz, Bill Matt, Clara Martinez, Courtney Millbrook, Debbie Mikula, Dominic Cochran, Erin Schor, Jack Davis, Josh Holliday, Kate Hude, Kelly Stuible-Clark, Laurie Baumer, Mark Harvey, Mike Marriott, Missy Lilje, Pat Lindeman, Quinn Jiles, Sarah Triplett, Scott Keith, Sergei Kvitko, Stephanie Vasko, Suban Nur Cooley, Thomas Muth, Tyson Pumphery and Yvette Collins.
The Vision of the Arts Commission is that the quality of life in Lansing will be optimized through the inclusion of arts and culture. The appointed members will utilize their experience, expertise and insight to work toward the vision.Samantha Harkins, Chief of Staff in the Mayor’s Office, will act as the lead staff member in this effort.
