Mayor Andy Schor Announces RFI for the Reuse and Reactivation of the Lansing City Market Property

Mayor Andy Schor today announced that the Request for Information (RFI) for developed proposal ideas for reactivation of what is currently the Lansing City Market property is now available. Mayor Schor’s team is requesting proposals that include financing options, activation of the space and sustainability plan.

Located on the Grand River at 325 City Market Drive, in the heart of Lansing’s downtown, the reuse and reactivation of the market property will be a catalyst for the riverfront area and open the doors to attract residents and riverfront stakeholders of all varieties. The market property needs capital improvements to the building and adaptive reuse of the space. Realizing the vision for the Market Property will require creativity to unlock its full potential and experience to reactivate this City-owned asset.

“The Stadium District is thriving and reactivation of the City Market property is a must,” said Mayor Schor. “I am looking forward to reviewing all of the creative, sustainable and stable proposals that we receive for reuse of the property. My team will continue to be transparent throughout the entire RFI process to ensure that the best choice is made for moving our community forward.”

Click here for the RFI. This is an open call for submittals that will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed for consideration as received.
