Code Inspection Reports Complete at Each Multi-Family Lansing Housing Commission Property

Mayor Andy Schor today announced that the City of Lansing’s Code Enforcement team has completed their inspections at all of the Lansing Housing Commission (LHC) multi-family properties. Earlier this year, LaRoy Froh and South Washington Park inspection reports were released. In an effort to remain transparent, the City of Lansing has released the remaining completed multi-family property reports including Mount Vernon and Hildebrandt.

All units at the complexes were inspected in accordance with the City of Lansing Housing Code. A number of issues were identified at each building. The deadline for compliance at LaRoy Froh and South Washington is October 15th, 2018. The deadline for Mount Vernon and Hildebrandt is October 31st, 2018.

“We continue to work with the Lansing Housing Commission to discuss their progress on improvements of these properties,” said Mayor Schor. “We are pleased with their efforts and believe that they will meet deadlines we have set for compliance.”

In addition to bringing each unit and building up to code, the LHC has committed to making additional safety and security updates, including adding dead bolts to doors, video cameras in stairways and entryways, updating security doors and more.

“We are making rapid progress toward brining each property to full compliance,” said Doug Fleming, Interim Director of LHC. “We have also made a commitment to our residents to complete all work orders that are submitted in a timely manner and make continued capital investments as needed.”
