Mayor Andy Schor, the Lansing Police Department (LPD) and Lansing Fire Department (LFD) would like to remind residents of the City’s fireworks ordinance to prepare for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
Lansing’s fireworks ordinance was recently updated in order to be in accordance with the new state statute. Fireworks are now only allowed to be discharged:
- From December 31st to January 1st between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.
- The Saturday and Sunday before Memorial Day between 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 p.m.
- From June 29th to July 4th between 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 p.m.
- If July 5th Falls on a Friday or Saturday, between 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 p.m.
- The Saturday and Sunday before Labor Day between 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 p.m.
Violating the Lansing fireworks ordinance by setting off fireworks outside of the above timeframe may result in a $1,000 fine.
City of Lansing 4th of July Events:
- Downtown parade at 11:00 a.m.
- Concert at Adado Riverfront Park at 8:00 p.m.
- Fireworks at Adado Riverfront Park at 10:15 p.m.
