As Congress debates the next round of Coronavirus relief funding, Mayor Andy Schor today released the following statement:
“The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact here in Lansing and in all cities, big and small, across the country. In order to address serious municipal government budget gaps, every city needs direct and meaningful fiscal assistance. Our communities, local businesses and residents are suffering from the negative impacts on our economy due to the shutdowns and ongoing pandemic needs.
That’s why I, along with leaders at the U.S. Conference of Mayors and National League of Cities, are urging leadership in the Senate and the President to join with the House of Representatives in support of this critical funding.
Thank you to Congresswoman Slotkin for her continued work to support these efforts, and for Senator Peters and Stabenow for their support of necessary funding for Lansing and other cities!”
