    Lansing area seniors join us for a day of education, health screenings, fun, food and entertainment. This is a free event allowing seniors to interact with a variety of vendors covering everything from senior health care, to senior living, entertainment and more. Seniors are provided a free breakfast and lunch. Live music, raffle giveaway prizes, and health screenings are part of the event's activities. This event aims to provide seniors the opportunity to receive important and helpful information while visiting with friends in a relaxed, enjoyable environment.     Visit dozens of local farmers and vendors selling fresh, locally-grown fruits and veggies, cut flowers, herbs, pastured chicken, grass-fed beef, jerky, breads, butter, roasted coffee, sweet treats, eggs, honey, syrup, caramel corn, soaps, lotions, and hand-made jewelry, fabric and wood crafts. The South Lansing Farmers Market also offers massage, live entertainment, kids’ activities, tips for healthy eating, and recipe samples. Delicious Chinese, Cuban, and Mexican foods are also available for dining or take-out at the market. The market is held every Thursday from 3-7 p.m. in the parking lot at St. Casimir Catholic Church.   5. Service of Remembrance

    August 19, 2018, 3:00 PM @ Fratcher Memorial Garden inside of Mt. Hope Cemetery

    The Friends of Lansing's Historic Cemeteries, along with Lansing's Parks and Recreation Department, is hosting the second annual Service of Remembrance in the Fratcher Memorial Garden inside of Mt. Hope Cemetery on Sunday, August 19th at 3:00 p.m. This will be a special ceremony honoring the memory of loved ones interred in our city owned cemeteries (Evergreen, Mt. Hope and North) during 2017. The program includes readings, a message and special music along with a recitation of names and candle lighting. Carnations will be distributed and light refreshments will follow. No RSVP is needed and this free event is handicap-accessible. It is hosted as a public service by the FOLHC, the city and the sponsors: Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes; Tiffany Funeral Home; Smith Floral and Greenhouses; Greater Lansing Monuments and Memorial Minders. Mt. Hope Cemetery is located at 1800 E. Mt. Hope, between Pennsylvania and Aurelius roads.
